Shepherds Purse
Made in North Yorkshire this excellent cheese using
traditional methods dating back to the early Yorkshire
cheeses of the eleventh century. It was introduced in 1995
and won a British Cheese Awards gold medal in 1997.
Yorkshire Blue is a creamy, sweet, moist blue, it is
mellow but not mild. Also made by Shepherds Purse is
the now famous Fine Fettle Yorkshire cheese that was called Yorkshire feta before the 10 year battle to save the name failed and was re-named in May 2007, it is a tasty cheese which is less salty than
the Greek Feta. It is especially good in pastries; also in
salads.
